Piccolo Park Early Learning Centre (AKA Piccolo) opened in 2015 with its farm theme incorporating ancillary barn style buildings with the historic Guy homestead built in 1899.

Starex’s new white high pressure laminate (HPL) with ply edge range complemented the agricultural theme and the powder coating tied in with building structures. Veneers were added to match the natural floorboards of the homestead building.

Catering for 120 children and staff of around 17, each room has a subtle colour scheme. A tractor was custom built with practical aspects as part of the focus on a ‘working farm’ for the children, where they grow organic produce in the gardens.

We have found the team at Starex to be open to creativity and the wonderous magic that working with children brings with it. They have always taken on board our dreams and made them real and understood how durable and fun furniture for children needs to be. They have also been mindful of how costly it can be to set up a centre and have been willing to work in furnishing our centres in stages to meet the demand of growth as needed. It has been a pleasure working with this awesome team of creativity and we look forward to working with them again.
